It is important to prepare for your mediation. If you have a lawyer, you should meet with your lawyer before you come to mediation to go over the facts of your case and to identify your goals in your case. If you do not have a lawyer, it may be beneficial for you to at least have a consultation with a lawyer before you come. In addition to discussing these issues with your lawyer, it’s important for you to bring supporting documentation with you to mediation to help ease the mediation along. Examples would be financial records, maybe medical records to prove an injury, or maybe records regarding property, title, or deeds.
