Most people come to mediation because they are unable to agree. They are looking to the special talents of the mediator, and the experience of the mediator to assist them in reaching an agreement. Sometimes, emotions are high between the parties and they are unable to communicate with each other clearly. That is where a mediator comes in, and will take the emotion out, and help the parties focus on the issues, and negotiate as best to reach their goals.
